The Creek

Well as many of you may well know Ash Creek has been renamed and re vamped! Now called The Creek, they have updated their menu, added some TVs, dart boards, and opened up the bar area!!

The new menu is phenomenal! While I was there last night I tried the lobster sliders and the mac n cheese with bbq rib tips...WOW. Thats really all I can say about that, I will be sure to go there again this weekend to try something new!

So be sure to check out The Creek this weekend and try something from their new menu, and let them know you heard it hear first....the food is amazing!!

Carrie Underwood @ Webster Bank Arena

The people at Webster Bank Arena have booked another big name for their venue- Carrie Underwood.  She will play Saturday September 15th.  Tickets went on sale this morning at 10AM.

Carrie is not Team BRL's typical cup of tea (although that might be changing after looking at a few of her pics), but we're sure there are at least a few Black Rocker's out there who might want to check her out.

Artist for a Day @ Captain's Cove

The World Artist Network, a global non-profit organization, is holding a FREE event on Saturday at Captain's Cove Seaport.

Sound Tigers Locker Room Sale

I'm not a huge hockey fan (other than NHL playoff time), but this sounds like a pretty cool opportunity if you are- 

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers are having a locker room sale tomorrow- Saturday May 19th at 10 AM at Webster Bank Arena.  According to their official fan site "Plenty of jerseys, hockey pants, socks, sticks... all the goods!" will be for sale.  Sounds like a pretty cool opportunity.  I wonder if the sale will be going on inside the locker room- would be pretty cool to get an inside look at our local teams digs.

Restaurant Week Begins tonight!

Bridgeport's Restaurant & Entertainment Week begins tonight and runs through Sunday May 20th.

Participating restaurants will be offering patrons a new fixed price menu.  The week offers a great opportunity to try  new restaurants you never had the chance to in the past, or re-visit old favorites. 

Not a bad idea to take the girl you picked up at the bar on Saturday to a nice dinner (that won't break your wallet) too!

Black Rock Rapist gets 28 years

The CT Post writes- 

BRIDGEPORT -- Terrance Easton, who police said was the so-called Black Rock rapist whose crimes terrorized women in the community in 2010, pleaded no contest to two of the rapes Monday.

Easton, 19, pleaded no contest to two counts of home invasion and one count each of aggravated first-degree sexual assault, first-degree sexual assault and first-degree robbery after a Superior Court judge refused to suppress key evidence against him for trial.

Under a plea bargain Easton will be sentenced to 28 years in prison on July 29 by Judge Robert Devlin Jr. But his lawyer, Wayne Keeney, retains the right to appeal the first judge's ruling.

Bluefish- Children Eat Free Night

It's the first Tuesday of the season at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard and that means KIDS EAT FREE (every Tuesday night at the ballpark).  Every child (12 and under) will receive a voucher upon entering the stadium that can be redeemed for one hot dog, a bag of chips and one 12 oz. fountain soda or chocolate milk.

The Bluefish split their opening weekend series 2-2 with the Camden River Sharks and look to get back to above .500 when they square off with Long Island Ducks over the next three days.  All games will begin at 7:05pm.
