Black Rock Residents Fight Massage Parlors

Black Rock residents went to bat on Friday to testify for stricter massage parlor laws in CT.  Neighborhood members including Black Rock's own Auden Grogins, a Bridgeport Rep, attended a public hearing before the Planning and Development Committee.

Lawmakers are considering a bill that attempts to curb illegal massage parlors in CT.

"The legislation adds shiatsu, acupressure and Thai massage to the list of services that cannot be advertised without a license to perform massage therapy. It also makes it a misdemeanor for someone to knowingly employ an unlicensed person to perform massage."
