WING EATING MANIA

The Black Rock Life inaugural wing eating contest at The Field was a huge success. 

Underdog MATT CLOUGH shocked the world when he put down 33 of the hotest wings around in the 7 minute race.

BRL Survivor Football League

Team Black Rock Life is running it's inaugural Survivor Pick'em Fantasy Football League for the 2012 NFL Season.  For those that are not familiar with how Survivor Leagues work please see the details below. 

To gain entry you may sign up at The Field Bar & Restaurant, located at 3001 Fairfield Avenue, or email Ryan@TheBlackRockLife.com or Kevin@TheBlackRockLife.com for more details. 

BLACK ROCK LIFE

SURVIVOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE

·       10 “points” per entry 

·       You may enter as many teams as you like

·       RULES- Pick 1 team to win each week from the slate of NFL games.  If you win you “survive” and pick next week.  If your selection loses, you’re out.  The WINNER will be the last person left in the pool.  You can only use a team ONCE during the course of the season.

·       If there are multiple players left at the end of the NFL regular season, remaining teams  will continue picking into playoffs.  Players will be allowed to select from any active playoff team, only using a team ONCE over the course of the playoffs.

·       The WINNER wins the entire pot (house takes 10%)

·       If there is a tie at the end of the season or the last remaining players lose on the same week then the pot will be split between them. 

·       Weekly picks must be submitted by 1pm each Sunday via Yahoo

·       Once you have paid and filled out the sign-up sheet a bartender will give you the League Name and Password to sign up via the internet.

Beach Party Success!!

Thanks to everyone who came out last Saturday for our Black Rock Life Beach Party at The Field. 

Everyone had a blast especially team BRL. 

The Field's parking lot was turned into a full out beach with the helps of 16 tons of sand, a Dunk Tank (all proceeds went to Black Rock Food Pantry), an Ice Luge, Polish Horseshoes, tons of beach decorations, and of course PLENTY OF BLACK ROCK LIFE MERCHANDISE!

We were lucky to have Mike Lauterborn, reporter from the Fairfield HamletHub cover our event.  Thanks again Mike!

Cancer Benefit Fundraiser- The Field

This Thursday, June 28th, The Field will be hosting a befit fundraiser for police officer Angelo Collazo who was recently diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Restaurant Week Begins tonight!

Bridgeport's Restaurant & Entertainment Week begins tonight and runs through Sunday May 20th.

Participating restaurants will be offering patrons a new fixed price menu.  The week offers a great opportunity to try  new restaurants you never had the chance to in the past, or re-visit old favorites. 

Not a bad idea to take the girl you picked up at the bar on Saturday to a nice dinner (that won't break your wallet) too!

Participating Black Rock restaurants include: The Field, The Creek @ Black Rock, Taco Loco, Bereket, Toni's Tuscan Table @ Dish, and Black Rock Yacht & Athletic Club.
